Megastar Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmita started her career as a designer a decade ago with Chiranjeevi’s Jai Chiranjeevi. After a long break, she returned back to films with Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam and she is now styling for Megastar’s prestigious periodic epic Syeraa.
Sushmita has a great combination of love for fashion and cinema alike. She feels that a designer needs to understand the director’s vision only after which they can design the right amount of clothing.
“Designing clothes for a periodical film is not so easy, I interacted with Surendar Reddy and traveled with him for almost eight months, after which I prepared a presentation, talked with my history teacher, spent a lot of time in the NIFT library and did enough research, I compiled material before designing for Syeraa, I’m designing for Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara and Tamannaah in Syeraa Uyyalavada died in 1830 and that’s why we used khadi cotton, mulmul and gauze along with some silks that were the richest textiles available during that time, “said Sushmita about her hard work and the amount of efforts she put into Syeraa.
