The whole of India was buzzing with a rumour that spread like wildfire! It looked like the entire country was more troubled by the news than the Indian Cricket Team themselves. The media reported rifts between the Indian Captain Virat Kohli and Vice-Captain Rohit Sharma.

These rumours started doing the rounds following India’s loss in the ICC World Cup semifinal. It was reported that the Indian Captain and Vice-Captains were not in good terms with each other following the loss. However, these speculations were strengthened when fans noticed that Rohit Sharma unfollowed both Virat Kholi and his wife Anushka Sharma.

Kohli denies these rumours left and right as he goes on to say, ‘In my opinion, it’s baffling. It’s absolutely ridiculous to read such stuff. I’ve been to a few public events. Everyone comes up and says we have respect for you. And here we are feeding off lies and overlooking facts. We are turning a blind eye to all the good things that have happened and creating fantasies and scenarios in our heads, and want to accept that this is the truth.

The Indian Captain thought that these rumours were very disrespectful as they delved into their personal lives. He also went on to say that it is important that people concentrate on the game and not on non-existent words. Speaking further on the topic, the Captain revealed that he’s the kind of person who, if he doesn’t like someone or is insecure about the person, then it is visible on the Captain’s face or his behaviour.

Virat Kohli then stated, ‘Within the team, it’s there for everyone to see – the friendship and camaraderie. It’s baffling and ridiculous to read such stuff. It’s time we focus on taking Indian cricket forward and not on things that are not even there.’
