Will India Take Away England’s Chance of Getting into the Semi-Finals?

India is now going to take on England in the line-up of World Cup 2019 league at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Both the teams are hoping to seal their place in the semi-finals. While India has won five out of their six matches, and one being a washout, they need to win only one of the next three matches they are going to play to score the semi-finals spot. However, the England team has only been wobbling since their last two defeats against Sri Lanka and Australia. For England to reach the semi-finals, they need to beat both India and New Zealand.

England definitely has a tough road ahead as their recent two defeats have coincided with the absence of Jason Roy due to a hamstring injury. He has been replaced by James Vince who has since been struggling to fill the shoes of the injured opener. However, there might be good news for the England fans as the England captain, Eoin Morgan, said that James Roy is preparing to play in the clash against India. The captain also confirmed that fast bowler, Jofra Archer, who is suffering from a side strain, is also gearing up for this clash.

The Indian team has definitely impressed at the tournament in England and Wales. The Indian Captain, Virat Kohli, is the world’s top-ranked Test and one-day international batsman. He has also hit four consecutive half-centuries and became the fastest batsmen to 20,000 international runs across all formats on Thursday.

It looks like a lot is riding on both teams; England has the pressure of winning this match, or they just might be out of the league while for India, it is not only Indians whose hopes they are carrying, they are also carrying Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka’s hopes; for if England wins, then these three teams will be out of the league.
